Dr. David Farrugia LL.D. M.A. (Fin.Serv)

Dr. David Farrugia earned his Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) degree from the University of Malta in December 2013. During the final years of his studies, from 2012 to 2013, he also attended the University of Roma Tre in Rome, Italy, where he expanded his expertise by studying and sitting for examinations in “Anglo-American Company Law” and “International Economic Dispute Settlement Law.”

In May 2013, Dr. Farrugia submitted his thesis titled “Procedures in the Adjudication of Company Insolvency: Selected Issues,” which marked a significant contribution to his field of study. Following his academic achievements, in March 2014, he successfully completed his Warrant examination, leading to his admission and swearing-in to the Maltese bar as a Lawyer. Since then, Dr. Farrugia has been actively practicing law, with a strong focus on Corporate/Company Law, Business, and Commercial Law.

In 2018, Dr. Farrugia further advanced his legal education by obtaining a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Financial Services from the University of Malta. His master’s thesis, entitled “The Director Disqualification Order: A Critical Analysis of Article 320 of the Companies Act and Its Application in Practice,” reflects his deep understanding and critical insight into this area of law.

As a licensed Corporate Service Provider (CSP), authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority, Dr. Farrugia specializes in various aspects of company, business, and commercial law.
